Guess Who?

  1. I know who it is, but want others to be able to play along for a while. Sure wish he had been under my tree (in his prime), waiting for me to unwrap him.

(Oh yes, his initials are GM)

  2. Stewie - What a maddening clue. All I can think of is Gary Morton, and somehow that just doesn't fill the bill.

  3. I think I've got it, but I can't tell you tempted I was to transfer my perennial answer over from Fabulon and guess Princess Stephanie of Monaco...

  4. gary morton who married lucy?

i can't get a read on the face, but with that hint, i'll say gardner mckay. no, the bicycle looks too new. so, if i'm right about the bike, that means that it couldn't be guy madison, gavin macleod, george murphy, groucho marx or garry marshall. or garry moore.

but i love the princess stephanie guess the best.

  6. I couldn't sleep a wink last night wondering who this fair-haired cyclist is. The photo looks like it was taken in the 40s but the bike is from the 70s (or perhaps late 60s). Plus there's something vaguely Australian about it (and I don't mean Oz, as in friend of Dorothy, although that too is possible.) The only GM I know who could be young enough to sit astride this conveyance in this time frame is a fella I went to prep school with. But he's not famous enough to be a mystery guest. Well, I better go before I pop a wheelie.

  7. Ive done a litle research on racing bicycles and as far back as 1902 the same type of frames used back then are still being used to this day.. the bike in the picture is almost identical to a 40's Holdsworth..
